About Us

Hyperbaric Medicine Inc. (HMI) was established 5 years ago to provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy to both local and distant patients. Patients have traveled to our facility for hyperbaric oxygen treatments from Colorado, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Korea, and of course Florida . We have evolved from our one original monoplace chamber to 6 Sechrist rigid monoplace chambers in our two locations, Fort Walton Beach and Destin FL. We are continuing to expand our facility to meet the needs for hyperbaric therapy. Our largest area of expansion involves hyperbaric oxygen treatments for neurologically challenged children and adults. These conditions include Autism, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, strokes, developmental delays, ADHD, cerebral manifestations of Lyme disease, and others.

At HMI we treat children as young as 12 months. Our treatment protocol for neurological conditions is 1.5 ATA (17ft) on 100% oxygen for 60 minutes. Patients may receive 2 treatments a day if treatments are separated by at least 3 hours. All hyperbaric oxygen treatments are in Sechrist rigid monoplace chambers. These chambers meet the highest safety standards of any hyperbaric chambers in the USA and the World. Patients are not required to wear hoods, and parents are not required to be in the chamber with their child. All parents are welcome to remain next to the chamber during the treatment period. The chambers are totally clear and our Certified Hyperbaric Technicians have constant visual contact with the children. The chambers have an open microphone which allows us to hear the children at all times. There is also a microphone on the chamber that allows the parents and staff to have direct communication with the children. Our only goal is to provide safe, affordable and effective hyperbaric oxygen treatments for our patients in a friendly, happy environment.
